PROGRESS
Operation Walk has traveled to Brazil, Guyana, Ghana, Trinidad, Honduras, Peru, The Dominican Republic, Cuba, China, Nepal, the Philippines, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Peru, El Salvador, Mexico, Kenya, Vietnam, Tanzania, Ecuador and India. We have traveled to most of these countries several times. By developing several teams in the United States, we have been able to expand the work that we do. Each team has the goal of making one trip per year (with the exception of the Los Angeles and Denver teams which makes at least 2 trips per year). Each team is responsible for raising their own money, and procuring their own supplies. Teams communicate on a regular basis. Our goal is to follow up on the patients that have surgery. We do this via e-mail with the physicians in the host country. When the next team returns to that country, they not only operate on a new group of needy patients, but also hold a follow-up clinic for the prior surgical patients. If you know of a country in need, and have contact with an orthopedic surgeon in that country, please contact us. We will evaluate any opportunity to help.
