Paul Gilbert, MD, Board President
Strong leadership shapes strong missions. As we refresh our Board of Directors for the coming year, these exciting new additions position us to reach even greater heights.
Dr. John Callaghan is stepping down as our chairman but, thankfully, is staying on the board. A vote of the board has approved Marilyn Dorr to assume our chairmanship. Having a strong force like Marilyn will ensure we stay on course and give us connections to the orthopaedic world.
I will remain as president and CEO and am grateful for this trust and opportunity. Drs. John Kumar and William Long remain as Medical Directors. Richard Link will assume the role of CFO. His extensive business experience makes him perfect for this position. Matt Sandusky remains as Chief Information Officer. Mary Ellen Sieben, RN, Jonathan Cohen MD, Lisa Fujimoto PA-C, Trish Lindsey RN, Bea Bennett, and Jill Baffert remain as well.
A few of our board members have recently stepped down to focus on other commitments. We are very pleased to announce the addition of Rich Cadarette and Lea Hinricher, CPA. Rich is a long-time Zimmer representative and has extensive business acumen. He will assume oversight of our insurance needs. His understanding of hip and knee replacement surgery goes far beyond knowledge of implants. I have known him for over 35 years, and he taught me so much. Our patients’ well-being was always the center of his focus and drive. He is a perfect fit for the mission of Operation Walk.
Lea is a Certified Public Accountant with more than 15 years of experience in public accounting. Lea will assume the Secretary position. She has been our accountant and advisor for years and has a deep understanding and passion for our mission. Lea values the opportunity to contribute behind the scenes to help further Operation Walk Los Angeles’s mission and support the dedicated professionals and volunteers who make its work possible.
Any healthy organization needs to rock and roll with the times. This is a fun, cohesive group who are not afraid to speak up and tell it like it is, so we are very excited about the future of our organization.
