On July 12, 2026, I underwent a free total knee arthroplasty through the generosity of Operation Walk Los Angeles in collaboration with St. Elizabeth Hospital, Inc. in General Santos City. Shortly after the surgery, the medical team assisted me in taking my first steps with my new knee. With the help of crutches, I was able to walk, giving me hope and confidence that better days were ahead. I was discharged from the hospital the following day and spent my first week at home resting, managing the pain, and allowing my body to recover. During this time, I watched many videos about knee replacement recovery and rehabilitation. I also discovered Dr. Cory Calendine’s YouTube channel, and his educational content became a valuable guide that helped me prepare mentally and physically for my recovery journey.
In the second week, I began faithfully performing the motion exercises provided by the medical team. I knew they had done their part excellently in restoring my knee, and it was now my responsibility to patiently and consistently work toward regaining its full function. As the weeks progressed, I gradually increased my exercise repetitions and even started using my stationary bike to improve my knee flexion.
Thirty-six days after my surgery, on August 17, I was blessed to return to work. Before the operation, my injured knee was a constant source of worry, and I often feared it would limit my ability to enjoy even the simplest activities in life. Today, while I am still recovering, I look forward with hope to fully utilizing my new knee and embracing the small joys and freedoms that were once difficult for me.
Above all, I am deeply grateful to our Almighty God for granting me this gift of healing through Operation Walk Los Angeles. My heartfelt thanks go to every member of the medical team whose skill, compassion, and dedication have changed my life. My prayer is that God will continue to bless the work of your hands and make you an instrument of His love and mercy to many more people in need just like me.
