“Truly, love is sweeter the second time around. As I looked back 15 years ago, I almost gave up on my nursing career. I took a long detour and experienced a long-year gap in my profession as a nurse since I thought it was a lost cause. I used to work as a bedside nurse but resigned and took a different path. I returned to St. Elizabeth Hospital to become an OR Nurse and became part of Operation Walk Los Angeles; my whole perspective of nursing changed, and I took a major leap.
To the OpWalk team, such brave souls who tirelessly and incredibly give their efforts in creating smiles and giving hope to people who needed their help to walk again and experience life at its best. This surgical mission made it possible to bring people from different parts of the world and become a medical team that provides excellent service with a heart.
Hats off to those individuals who are part of their surgical mission as they continue to give their kindred spirits and utmost dedication to those needy and less able. Kudos to everyone who was friendly and approachable enough to teach us how an operation can be exciting and productive at the same time.
